Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Central Brick Society respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the services we offer to our families and community.
1. Who we are
Livin 4 Bricks LLC, doing business as Central Brick Society ("Central Brick Society," "we," "us," or "our"), operates centralbricksociety.com and our studio at 461 Central Avenue, Highland Park, IL 60035. If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at hello@centralbricksociety.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. This includes:
Newsletter sign-ups — your name and email address when you join our list.
Membership & program registration — information you provide when you register (which may include the parent/guardian's name and contact details, the child's name and age/birthday, grade, school, allergies or medical notes relevant to safety, emergency contacts, drop-off/pickup authorization, photo/media consent, and how you heard about us).
Purchases — when you buy a drop-in session, membership, class, workshop, or retail item, payment is processed by our payment providers. We receive confirmation and order details, but we do not collect or store full payment-card numbers ourselves.
Communications — messages you send us by email, form, or social media.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our website platform may collect standard technical data such as your device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and similar usage information through cookies and comparable technologies.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate our services — including processing memberships and registrations, keeping the studio safe and appropriately supervised, communicating with you about your account, programs, and schedule changes, sending updates and marketing (which you can opt out of at any time), improving our Site and offerings, and complying with our legal obligations.
4. Children's privacy
Central Brick Society serves children as part of our programs, and we take their privacy seriously. We collect information about children from their parents or guardians during registration — not from children directly — and we use it to run our programs and keep participants safe. We do not knowingly allow children under 18 to create accounts or submit personal information to us online, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site. Parents and guardians may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information by contacting us at hello@centralbricksociety.com.
5. Photos & media
We may take photographs or video during programs and events for operational purposes and to share what our community is building (for example, on our website or social media). We ask for photo/media consent at registration, and you may opt out or ask us to remove an image of you or your child at any time by contacting us. We handle images of children with particular care.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:
Service providers who help us operate — for example, our website platform (Squarespace), class-registration provider (Sawyer), payment processor (Square), and email/marketing tools — who may process your information on our behalf.
Legal and safety reasons — when required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our community.
Business transfers — in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization of our business.
7. Cookies & tracking
Our Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, and understand how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.
8. Your marketing choices
You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. We may still send you non-promotional messages about your account or registrations.
9. Biometric information
Central Brick Society does not collect, capture, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
10. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
11. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your rights & choices
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you or your child, subject to legal limits. Illinois residents may have additional rights regarding their personal information. To make a request, contact us at hello@centralbricksociety.com, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
13. Third-party links
Our Site may link to other websites and services we don't control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
