Welcome to Central Brick Society. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and the services we offer in our studio. Please read them carefully — by using our site or joining our community, you agree to them.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Livin 4 Bricks LLC, doing business as Central Brick Society ("Central Brick Society," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using centralbricksociety.com (the "Site"), creating an account, purchasing a membership, or registering for a program, or participating in a drop-in build session, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
2. Who we are
Central Brick Society is an independent creative studio located at 461 Central Avenue, Highland Park, IL 60035. Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@centralbricksociety.com.
3. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a membership, register for programs, or create an account. Parents and legal guardians may register and manage participation on behalf of their children. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
4. Memberships, programs & purchases
Membership options, drop-in visits, workshops, camps, parties, and retail are offered subject to availability and to the pricing and policies presented at the time of purchase. Registration and payment are handled through our third-party providers (for example, Sawyer and Square), and the specific membership, billing, auto-renewal, cancellation, and refund terms presented at checkout apply to your purchase in addition to these Terms.
Founding ("Society Starter") memberships are paid annually in advance and will renew at the promotional monthly rate. Except as described at checkout, founding prepayments are non-refundable once purchased; if we are ultimately unable to open the studio, your prepayment will be refunded in full.
Recurring memberships renew automatically at the rate disclosed at purchase until canceled in accordance with the cancellation terms provided to you.
We may update pricing and program offerings from time to time; changes will not affect a founding rate that has been locked as described at purchase. Conventional memberships will receive at least 30 days' notice in advance of an increase.
5. Studio participation & safety
Use of our physical studio is a hands-on activity that carries inherent risks. Participation is subject to our Builders’ Code and to any waiver, release, and participation agreement we ask you to sign on site or at registration. Supervision and drop-off rules are posted and provided at registration; Central Brick Society is a drop-in creative space, not a licensed childcare provider. You agree to follow our staff's instructions and posted rules while in the studio. Central Brick Society may suspend or remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, harmful, or seriously disruptive, without refund.
6. Acceptable use of the Site
You agree not to misuse the Site. You will not use it for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to it, interfere with its operation or security, scrape or harvest data from it, or upload harmful code. We may suspend or restrict access to anyone who violates these Terms.
7. Our content & intellectual property
Unless otherwise noted, the content on the Site — text, graphics, logos, images, and layout — is owned by or licensed to Central Brick Society and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial license to view the Site. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
8. Trademarks & independence
"Central Brick Society," our logo, and related marks are trademarks of Central Brick Society. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse Central Brick Society. We are an independent studio and are not affiliated with, or operated by, the LEGO Group. References to bricks and building are descriptive only.
9. Third-party services & links
The Site relies on and links to third-party services (such as Squarespace, Sawyer, and Square). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.
10. Disclaimers
The Site and our services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. This section does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Central Brick Society and its owners, members, and staff will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site or the services offered in studio. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Central Brick Society from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
